Bandai Namco Absolutely Nails the Marketing Campaign for Dark Souls III

As if we needed another reason to love the Souls series, the marketing campaign for Dark Souls III has been nothing short of stellar. In addition to the standard cryptic clips of in game intros and obscure lore and people dying a million times, Bandai Namco has added a full-on ’80s horror movie homage. First, they let horror director Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) direct an animated short called “The Witches” that captured the inevitability of the game’s soul-crushing nature.

Then, we got a full-on ’80s VHS movie trailer for the game, which is just fabulous.

And finally, Bandai Namco UK released downloadable box art for the aforementioned VHS version of the game, which you can print out and put in the game case of your choice.
