You can thank him for the new and improved, completely awesome website that you see before you today. Not only is it more organized and functional than our previous site, but it’s a much better representation of how far we’ve come, and what Co-Op Critics is today.

When I started this site and podcast back in 2011, there were really two reasons behind it. For starters, there really wasn’t enough room in my comics podcast (Secret Identity) to consistently work in games discussion, especially since my co-host is not a gamer. I was also really missing writing about games since leaving Comic Book Resources in 2010, where I had been covering games for a couple of years. Co-Op Critics was a place where I planned on continuing to write, talk about and celebrate games with the people I played them with.

Over time, the site became more of a place where I was writing about games, with some occasional posts from other and a somewhat irregular podcast schedule.

Nick and I have been playing games together for years, and in late 2014 we talked about the state of Co-Op Critics and what we thought it could become. I was looking for a collaborator and he was looking for a home for all the things he wanted to talk and write about. So, we put our heads together and began to outline a plan for the evolution of Co-Op Critics.

In January, we launched our YouTube page and rededicated ourselves to our Twitch channel. In February, we re-launched the Co-Op Critics podcast. And then Nick began working on a revamp of the Co-Op Critics website, which was no small feat, given the amount of content he had to port over from our old site.

But here we are, just over six months since the evolution of Co-Op Critics began, getting settled in our new home. We have big plans for this place, but the core mission of Co-Op Critics is the same one that I started this site with four years ago. We are here to celebrate games–together.

So please, check out the new digs, stop by the YouTube page and Twitch channel. Give the podcast a listen and come interact with us on Twitter. We’re just getting started.

And seriously–thank Nick. None of this would have happened without him.
