New Metal Gear Survive Gameplay Video!!

IGN just posted a new video that shows off several minutes of Metal Gear Survive gameplay, and I’m completely sold on it. This is a game that a lot of people seem ready to just dismiss out of hand, but I think it looks pretty amazing. The Metal Gear stealth appears to be there, but the game also seems to be reminiscent of Fortnite and 7 Days to Die for me. Lots of crafting and base building, with periodic horde modes. I’m am so down for this.

Metal Gear Survive comes out on Ferbuary 20th in the US.

Brian’s Short List for March 2015

March is right around the corner, and we here at co-Op Critics are planning our games coverage for the month. It will be a mix of old and new–Dragon Age: Inquisition will be a spotlight game for us next month–and there are some new games we’re really excited for.

For me personally, there are a few games coming out in March that are among my most anticipated of the year, one of which was just announced yesterday.

Ori and the Blind Forest (Xbox One)
Ori and the Blind Forest is a 2D platformer in the vein Super Metroid. It looks stunning–but don’t take my word for it, check out the video.

Bloodborne–March 24 (PS4)
Easily my most anticipated game of the year. From the director of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, two of my all-time favorite games. Expect to see a lot of Bloodborne on this blog and our YouTube channel in the coming weeks and months.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection–March 24 (Xbox One/PS4)
After enjoying the first Borderlands, I never finished the sequel (on XBox 360 or Vita). I also didn’t play the pre-sequel, so Nick and I will definitely be co-opping a lot of Borderlands in the future.

Neverwinter–March 31(Xbox One)
I think I dabbled with Neverwinter on PC a while back, but I may just be thinking of D&D Online. In any case, I am a huge D&D fan, and I am excited about any MMO coming to consoles. Between this and the upcoming Elder Scrolls, I’ve got a lot to forward to. And the opening cinematic for Neverwinter is insane.

So, what games are you looking forward to next month? Are there games you want to see us cover here on Co-Op Critics? Let us know in the comments!

Brian’s Short List for February 2015

Holy moly.

I was just looking  at Game Informer’s list of 2015 game releases, and I started hyperventilating. I’m knee-deep into both Dying Light and Dragon Age: Inquisition right now, and they’re taking up almost all of my gaming time (in a good way, mind you).

So, moreso for my own sanity than everything else, I’ve decided to do a monthly list of notable game releases, so I can keep straight those games that are on my purchase radar. I won’t be getting all of the games on the list each month, but it narrows down my potential list quite a bit.

So, here are the games on my radar for February, listed by release date:

Evolve–February 10

Resident Evil Revelations 2–February 17/18

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse–February 20

The Order: 1886–February 20

Of the list above, I would say that I can probably afford one or two purchases, both time and money-wise. Evolve will be a strong contender, just because I know the Co-Op crew will all be playing it. But, I have a Kirby Amiibo waiting to be unleashed upon Rainbow Curse, and I am very interested in The Order: 1886. Since The Order is only a single-player game (which is a good thing, IMO), I may wait until I clear out some of my backlog before grabbing it.

Oh, and did I mention the New 3DS XL comes out on February 13th? Excuse me while I hyperventilate again.
